Despite this, Prineville has experienced an economic resurgence over the years, with its reliance on the timber industry waning. The presence of federal jobs through the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service, as well as a thriving housing market and burgeoning tourism industry, have contributed to the city's diverse and thriving economy.
